About Eurovoice

The new digital telephony service proposed by EUROWEB Romania, is built on SIP and ENUM technologies, the same technologies chosen as the operating standards for UMTS services (third generation of mobile telephony), allowing multimedia communication between two users both through private communication means (VPN, rented lines) as well as through public ones, such as the world Internet network.

Eurovoice is one of the first telephony services of type «open network» worldwide, in operational phase, being the first of its kind in Eastern Europe. In addition, Eurovoice is the first telecommunication service in Romania which realized the convergence of communications between Internet and PSTN (classic telephony environment) environments.

Eurovoice is not a simple and common VoIP service. Even though at a first glance the technology might seem similar, when you take a closer look you will realize the extraordinary features and key-characteristics Eurovoice has compared to other similar services present on the market:

- In order for the service to function you just need an Internet connection, regardless of the ISP you use. This means that Eurovoice has a global use. You can use it everywhere and anytime, all you need is the Internet connection.

- The Eurovoice subscribers have an assigned public numbering range of PSTN type, which allows the direct call of the subscriber from any existent telephony system (PSTN, Internet, satellite). The service also allows for a series of facilities, such as the use of a private numbering plan or calling using a short number inside own network.

- Eurovoice provides fax and video calls services too.

- The Eurovoice subscriber can be contacted in several different ways: at a regular telephone number, after the e-mail address or after an alias he chooses. In addition, he can also have several terminals - at home, office or in the future even a mobile one, all corresponding to one single telephone number.

- The ability to see realtime all the calls you've made and how much you have to pay all via a web platform.

- The ability to configure your account online

- Another need of the companies, scalability, is also covered. Thus, with minimum investments in equipment a communication solution may be extended from 1 user to 1000. In addition, clients like companies do not have to massively invest in costly classic exchanges, the allocation of a simple communication server being enough to enjoy all the facilities offered by a new generation exchange.

- In the near future, Eurovoice shall also mean video-telephony services and the possibility to use mobile terminals of the third generation or PDA next to the SIP terminals currently supported: normal telephone with SIP adapter, SIP telephone, laptop or desktop, all able to operate based on a single subscription or even a single telephone number.
